William Noth practices in the Public Finance & Law and the Corporate, Business & Tax practice groups of the firm.  He combines his extensive transactional expertise in municipal bond law with a corporate securities practice, and has served as President of the National Association of Bond Lawyers (NABL).

As part of the Public Finance & Law group, Bill serves as bond counsel to a number of Iowa’s larger cities in connection with their traditional tax-secured and revenue bond financings.  He also has an extensive practice representing cities in a wide range of economic development projects, including those involving new market tax credits, tax increment revenues, historic tax credits, developer guarantees, mortgages and other security provisions.

His practice with the Corporate, Business & Tax group focuses on corporate board and securities law compliance issues.  Among other things, his recent work in this area includes SEC reporting and disclosure issues, corporate governance matters and private placements of debt  securities.

Born in Davenport, Iowa, Bill is a 1982 graduate of the University of Iowa College of Law, where he was Note and Comment Editor of the Iowa Law Review.  He served as a judicial law clerk to Justice K. David Harris of the Iowa Supreme Court following his graduation, joining the firm in 1983.  He currently serves on the firm’s Management Committee.
